Pro-Tech Mats was founded in 1994. Randy Ernst President and wife Darlene Ernst CFO formally worked in the automotive industry. Randy was suffering from pain related to prolong standing on hard flooring and surfaces. They took their automotive skills and worked with certified rubber chemical to formulate a closed cell molded rubber sheet. Their favorite hobby was Bass Fishing so the first application they offered this material was bass boat casing decks, soon to be called Ortho Deck Pad.
Ortho Deck Pads are now part of assembly with the top bass boat builders.
After team fishing for the past 35 years Randy and his fishing buddies seen enough worn-out carpeted Bunk Board and the problems associated with carpeted bunks. After a year of R&D Pro-Tech started putting Tuff Bunk boards on boat trailers.
The feedback was great and very positive.
Tuff Bunk has gone through many positive design features the developed from customer feedback.
Tuff Bunks have been offered for over 3 years now with over 3,000 bunks delivered to satisfied boaters and personal watercraft owners.
