The Smile Lounge

Dr. Henderson wanted to become a dentist after participating in a humanitarian trip to the Dominican Republic. There he saw the positive impact dentists can have on someone. He was inspired by their ability to make connections, heal, and improve the health and overall quality of life of those they served.

He completed a bachelor’s degree in Korean and  attended dental school at Oregon Health & Science University. After graduating with his DMD degree, he has been serving patients in the Portland area ever since.

After practicing for several years, Dr. Henderson opened up The Smile Lounge so that he could focus on providing more attention and care to his patients. In particular, Dr. Henderson loves working with patients with autism and anxiety.

Dr. Henderson has a son who is autistic, and after talking with other parents of kids on the spectrum, realized that many other dentists in Tigard and the Portland area are too busy and lack the knowledge on how to provide dental care to those with autism.
