The hospital's journey is a narrative of resilience and adaptation, a story that bridges pre-partition Lahore with modern Delhi. The tumultuous events of the Partition of India in 1947 necessitated the creation of a new facility in New Delhi, a testament to the enduring need for quality healthcare. This new chapter began with the visionary Shri Dharam Vira, whose efforts, blessed by the laying of the foundation stone by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in April 1951, culminated in the inauguration of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on April 13, 1954.
