Zero Knowledge Proof (ZKP) is a cryptographic method that allows one party (the prover) to demonstrate to another party (the verifier) that a statement is true without revealing any additional information beyond the validity of the statement itself.

In simple terms, ZKPs let you prove you know something without showing what it is.

How Do They Work?

At the core, a ZKP follows three principles:

  1. Completeness – If the statement is true, the verifier will be convinced.

  2. Soundness – If the statement is false, the prover cannot convince the verifier (except with a very small probability).

  3. Zero-Knowledge – No extra information is revealed other than the fact that the statement is true.

Think of it like proving you can unlock a safe without ever showing the key.
