The source material for the 2D platformer Little Runmo - The Game is Gooseworx's animated short film "Little Runmo" on YouTube. A made-up video game character's struggle for survival in his final existence is the plot's central focus.

The video and the Super Mario games served as inspiration for Little Runmo-The Game's gameplay. The game is not an exact recreation of the animated feature, which may disappoint fans who came from that medium. I want to add challenging moments, but I will strive to make the difficulty curve as smooth as possible. I am not aiming to build a hardcore Meatboy-type game. You can think of the early levels as being really easy, similar to how the Mario games were made, and then the game will gradually include more difficult concepts. Mario 63, a fan-made game, Super Mario Bros. Wii, and Mario World were major influences once again.
