We are your shipping agent – we work for you to get your vehicle transported in the safest, most efficient manner possible.  We take care of the paperwork, choose a licensed and fully insured carrier, and handle the details so that you don’t have to.  That said we would like to give you some insight into the process that will help you understand what is going on behind the scenes.

Some things to consider with your free quote:  Automatic quotes are based on distances – there are other factors to consider that affect how quickly we can assign a truck to pick up your vehicle.  If you live in the mountains, 150 miles from the closest major highway, it will raise the transportation cost of your vehicle.  Current fuel prices can also affect the cost of shipping your vehicle.  Toll roads on the shipping route can increase the cost of carrying that vehicle.  If it is an international shipment, there will be additional costs as well.  While our software does a pretty good job at quoting shipments, sometimes we need to adjust it a little to offer a fair price to a carrier.  We will discuss this with you without any obligation or commitment on your part.

Once you decide on what level of service you need, you will place your order.  You will need the pickup and delivery addresses, contact names, and phone numbers.  If the vehicle is coming from an auto auction, you will need the buyer’s number and a lot number before they will release the vehicle to the carrier.  We will also need to know any details about the vehicle.  Does it run?  If it doesn’t run, does it roll and steer?  Does it have over-sized tires?  Does it have low clearance?  If it’s a towable trailer, are the tires road-worthy and the lights in proper working order?

After you place the order, we go to work posting it on the national load boards and looking for a suitable carrier out of our list of dependable, trustworthy drivers that we have worked with in the past.  This can take a little time, as we said before – one to seven days.  There simply aren’t enough trucks in the country to be everywhere all the time.  This also gives you time to take all of your personal belongings out of the vehicle and make sure it is ready to go.

Once a carrier is assigned to your load, you will be contacted to schedule a specific pick-up time that works best for both of you.  Depending on where you live, the truck might not be able to get right to your door to pick up the vehicle.  If that is the case, you will need to meet the driver in a nearby parking lot to get it loaded on the truck.  That can be discussed with the driver when they call to schedule the pickup.

When the driver arrives, you will need to do an inspection with the driver, note any existing damage on the bill of lading, hand over the keys, and sign the paperwork.  This process should not take more than 15-20 minutes.
