After I had been working with my company for several years, I finally got up the nerve to ask my boss for a promotion. He offered me a great position, but the only caveat was that it was at another branch of the company that was practically across the country! He let me think about it for a while, and by the time I told him I would take it, he told me that they were in desperate need of me and I had to move in just a week! I had never made such a quick move before and started panicking. I was very lucky to get settled in my new city with enough time to explore before I began working.
