After 20 years of development and research, dual diagnosis services for clients with various mental illnesses is an evidence-based addiction treatment practice. Effective dual diagnosis programs provide integrated treatment for both the mental health issues (anxiety, trauma, etc.) and addiction.
Dual diagnosis addiction recovery combines mental health and substance abuse treatment that is tailored for the complex needs of clients with comorbid (co-occurring or dual diagnosis) disorders.
To achieve lasting recovery from addiction – the Whole Person (body, mind and spirit) must be included in treatment.
