Castango was founded in 2016 by Chekesha Van Putten, a professional spokesmodel, actress and former Laker Girl, with over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry. Chekesha achieved success in the industry appearing in movies and commercials, but she became frustrated with having to completely rely on her talent agency to find work to advance her career. There was no safe or reliable place she could go to secure jobs utilizing her skills as a performer, so she decided to start a business to solve the problem.
