After finishing his undergraduate studies in Chicago, he attended medical school at the University of Puerto Rico, where he obtained many awards including membership in the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society and being in the top 10 percent of his class.
Dr. Sarraga after that finished a full general surgery residency at the Universty of Puerto Rico, where he was identified as intern of the year throughout his internship year. During this fellowship, he learned about the intricacies of oculoplastic surgery and rejuvenation of the upper face (eyelids, cheeks, brow).
