Caravan Closet
Caravan Closet — Crafted With Soul. Rooted in Nepal. Inspired by the World.
Caravan Closet was founded by Shova Singh, a woman whose passion for free-spirited, hippie-boho fashion began in her homeland of Nepal. What started as a small effort to share the artistry of her community soon became a global journey—one that now brings together handcrafted pieces and cultural expressions from around the world.
At Caravan Closet, every item carries its own story: the hands that made it, the traditions that shaped it, and the spirit of wanderlust that ties it all together.
Where It All Began
Shova grew up in a humble village in Nepal, surrounded by color, texture, and the rhythm of artisan life. Women in her community crafted beautiful textiles and clothing, yet many faced financial hardship and few opportunities for fair employment.
This contrast deeply affected her. She saw beauty—but also struggle.
Creativity—but limited access to markets.
Talent—but no platform.
From this, Caravan Closet was born.
From Nepal to the World
Caravan Closet began with Nepalese-made apparel and accessories, created by the women Shova knew and grew up with. As the brand grew, so did her mission.
During her travels, Shova discovered artisans in other parts of Asia, South America, Africa, and Eastern Europe who shared similar stories—rich craft traditions but limited ways to reach global customers.
Caravan Closet naturally evolved into a global artisan and small producers collective, carefully curating:
- Boho apparel from Nepal
- Hand-woven textiles from India
- Eco-friendly crafts from Thailand
- Tiny local producer products from China
- And unique finds from small makers around the world
Every piece still aligns with the same core values: ethical, soulful, and inspired by wanderers.
A Brand Built With Purpose
Shova founded Caravan Closet with a clear mission:
To uplift artisans—especially women—by giving them dignified, fair employment and a global stage for their craft.
The brand:
- Pays artisans above a living wage
- Provides stable, long-term work
- Supports skill-building and training
- Helps women fund education for their children
- Breaks cycles of generational poverty
- Partners exclusively with ethical and fair-trade workshops
This purpose remains at the center of every design, every collection, and every collaboration.
Giving Back: The Himalayan Nepal Foundation
Shova’s commitment to community started long before the brand.
She works with the Himalayan Nepal Foundation, a nonprofit that supports vulnerable families across Nepal.
The foundation provides:
- Annual medical camps with free screenings
- Scholarships for children
- Anti-trafficking and women’s safety programs
- Employment and training opportunities
- Human rights advocacy
A portion of every Caravan Closet purchase helps further these initiatives.
